In March 2018, the memorandum of understanding that led to the creation of the Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Malaga (CIFAL) was signed, becoming one of the 19 points at the global level where training is provided in key areas related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations (UN).
The Global CIFAL Network depends on the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), which aims to reach through education, training and accompaniment to all regions of the world to fulfil the implementation of the SDGs and meet the goals at a global level.
CIFAL Málaga also acts as a centre for the exchange of knowledge between officials, national and international non-governmental organisations, the academic sector, the private sector and the entire network of UN agencies.
Every CIFAL centre in the world focuses on various topics where it specialises in proving training. In the case of CIFAL Málaga, the priority areas are governance and urban planning, economic and tourism development, social inclusion and prevention of radicalisation.
Since its beginning, CIFAL Málaga has carried out more than 100 training actions at all levels, giving priority to the government, social, political, academic and business leaders; also giving relevance to children and young people, whom we consider the leaders of the world.
